Privacy Policy — Nitka Studio Publisher
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Nitka Studio Publisher is a command-line tool used by one person, the owner of the YouTube channel Nitka, to upload that channel's own videos and to read that channel's own analytics. It is not distributed and has no other users.
YouTube API Services
The tool uses YouTube API Services. Its user agrees to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
What the tool accesses
The tool has two parts, each with its own sign-in and its own token.
Uploading, through the YouTube Data API with the OAuth scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload:
- uploads video files and their metadata (title, description, tags, category, publish time) to the owner's own channel;
- uploads the thumbnail image of those videos.
Reading the channel's own analytics, read-only, through the YouTube Data API and the YouTube Analytics API with the OAuth scopes https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/yt-analytics.readonly:
- lists the owner's own videos and their public statistics (views, likes, comments counts);
- reads aggregated reports for those videos: views, watch time, average view duration, audience retention, traffic sources and subscribers gained.
All of this is aggregated data about the owner's own channel. The tool does not read the content of comments, the identity of any viewer or subscriber, or any data of other channels, and it requests no other permission. Apart from uploading, it cannot change or delete anything on the channel.
What the tool stores
- The OAuth refresh tokens of the owner's own Google account, in two files on the owner's computer (
~/.config/nitka-studio/youtube-token.jsonfor uploading,youtube-analytics-token.jsonfor reading analytics). - Dated snapshots of the channel's own aggregated analytics, in the owner's private project files, used to decide what to make next.
- The ids of the videos it has uploaded, in the project's own files, so that a video is not uploaded twice.
Nothing is sent to any server other than Google's. No data is shared with or sold to third parties. This website has no cookies, no tracking and no advertising.
Deleting data and revoking access
- Deleting the token file removes the tool's access from the computer.
- Access can be revoked at any time on the Google security settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions
- Stored video ids are deleted by deleting the project's
publish.jsonfiles, and analytics snapshots by deleting the project'schannel/analyticsfolder. - Google's own data about the channel is managed in the owner's Google account, not by this tool.
