Nitka Studio Publisher
Nitka Studio Publisher is a small command-line tool that the owner of the YouTube channel Nitka uses to upload the channel's own videos and to read the channel's own analytics. It has one user, the channel owner, and it is not offered to anyone else.
What it does
- Uploads a finished video file to the owner's own YouTube channel through the YouTube Data API (
videos.insert), with its title, description, tags, category and scheduled publish time. - Sets the video's thumbnail (
thumbnails.set). - Reads the owner's own channel analytics, read-only (YouTube Analytics API reports and the channel's own video statistics): views, watch time, retention, traffic sources, subscribers gained.
It does nothing else: it does not download YouTube content, read comments, or collect data about any viewer or any other channel, and apart from uploading it cannot change or delete anything on the channel.
How it signs in
The owner signs in with Google (OAuth 2.0), separately for each part: youtube.upload for uploading, and youtube.readonly with yt-analytics.readonly for reading analytics. The tool keeps the resulting tokens on the owner's own computer and nowhere else.
Policies
The tool uses YouTube API Services. By using it, the owner agrees to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
